Kunado Chronicles is an immersive post-apocalyptic fantasy visual novel game that takes place in a future where humanity is on the brink of extinction. In this world, monstrous creatures known as Tekki have ravaged the earth, leaving behind a society that is constantly threatened by destruction. The story begins with the protagonist waking up from a deep sleep, finding themselves upside-down in a tree and realizing that they have been transported to the future.

The year is 2034 A.D., and Tekki have wiped out most of humanity, causing the loss of technology and civilization. The survivors now live in small pockets of safety, constantly on guard against the relentless threat of the Tekki. However, a hero emerges and manages to strike a decisive blow against the heart of the Tekki menace, bringing hope to the remnants of humanity.

The game is set in the country of Kanto, which is reminiscent of long-lost Japan and home to around eight hundred empowered individuals. The culture of Kanto revolves around the struggle for survival, even though the battle against the Tekki is over. The common citizens wear fox masks and live as "nobodies," blending into the background of society.

One day, a young man from a thousand years in the past is discovered and becomes the protagonist of the story. He has just awakened from a long hibernation and has lost his memory. However, he possesses knowledge of ancient civilizations, making him a valuable asset to the people of Kanto. In exchange for food, clothing, and shelter, he agrees to help bring culture and hope to the kingdom.

The game features 20 hours of story, with two branching routes that allow players to explore different paths and outcomes. It also includes Japanese voice acting, adding authenticity to the immersive experience. The characters in Kunado Chronicles are shaped by the world they inhabit, each with their own unique traits and struggles.

The protagonist, known as Shin, is a young man with a thousand years of knowledge but no personal memories. He compensates for his lack of skills and a strong personality with adaptability and rational thinking. Haruhime, the leader of the Eight Swords who hold authority in Kanto, is a charming princess with a rare curiosity in her kingdom. She fights uphill battles and is loved by her people for her fairness and just rule.

Akane and Aoi, also known as Fuujin of the Gales and Raijin of the Thunder, respectively, are the youngest members of the Eight Swords and the strongest fighting force in Kanto. Akane relies on her instincts, while Aoi is a berserker who finds satisfaction in battle. Their older sister, who is believed to be deceased, had the power to command the world with her words.
